You should be brushing your teeth at least twice per day, morning and night.Use a soft-bristled toothbrush with a small head that can reach every area of your smile. You may prefer an electronic toothbrush to a manual one. Every three to four months, replace your toothbrush or toothbrush head to keep the bristles fresh. Brush with fluoridated toothpaste at a 45-degree angle at the gumline, using small circular movements. Floss every day using any of these methods:
• The finger-wrap method: Extract an 18-inch string of floss and wrap the ends around your middle fingers, leaving a two to three inch gap in between.
• The circle method: Extract 12 inches of floss and tie the ends together in a loop.
• A plastic flossing tool: You can purchase a plastic flossing tool at most drug stores for easier flossing.
Gently floss between all of your teeth and around the gums. Curve the floss in a c-shape around each tooth, slide it under the gum line, and work up and down to remove plaque.
